WANG TONG
FAMA Flute Lead Teacher
Wang Tong graduated from the Central Conservatory of Music, Beijing China and migrated to Singapore in 1992 and was formerly with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO). Since 1993, she has taught at institutions including the Singapore National Youth Orchestra, NUS, NTU, the Singapore Armed Forces, LASALLE College of the Arts, NAFA and Nanyang Girls' High School.
Wang tong has also made selected recordings of ABRSM Flute Syllabus 2014 - 2017. The recordings can be found on our youtube (FluteAndMusicAcademy)

SHARON TAN
FAMA Flute Senior Teacher
A part of the American Band College, with the Sam-Houston State University, Sharon holds a Masters degree in Band Conducting. Her first formal encounter with music began with one-on-one piano lessons at home, after which she found joy in making music with others in the primary school choir. However, it wasn’t until she joined the concert band as a flute player that sparked off her deep interest in music. After her graduation from the Anglo-Chinese Junior College, Sharon went on to pursue her undergraduate studies in music performance with the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, under the tutelage of Jin Ta, Principal Flautist of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.
Since then, Sharon has accumulated an outstanding palate of performing experience with solo, chamber, band, orchestra, Broadway, Pop and chorus performances both locally and internationally. She has also benefitted from various renowned flautists including Mary Fukushima (USA), Riona O’Duinnin (Ireland), Carla Corredu (the Netherlands), Angela Rowland (Macau Symphony Orchestra), Emer Macdonough (UK), Betsy Hill (USA), Roberto Alvarez Gonzalez (Spain), and Wang Tong (Singapore).
Later in life, she delved into the art of conducting as she serves as the main or assistant conductor in various local institutions such as the Anglo-Chinese School (Independent), Kent Ridge Secondary School, National Junior College, Tampines Junior College and Victoria School. Convicted to spread the joy of music making with various age groups and backgrounds, Sharon also gives masterclasses and clinics locally and overseas, and acted as an adjudicator for music contests.
Sharon's favourite hobbies include travelling and learning about the beautiful cultures of many lands.

MARK YEO
FAMA Flute Junior Teacher
Mark graduated with Bachelor's in Flute performance at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (YSTCM) and was privileged to be under the tutelage of Mr. Evgueni Brokmiller, Associate Principal Flutist of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. Prior to studying under Mr. Brokmiller, he learnt under Ms. Wang Tong and more recently, Mr. Jin Ta. He has participated in masterclasses held by distinguished flutists such as Michael Cox (BBC Symphony Orchestra), Hansgeorg Schmeiser (Wiener Kammerorchester) and Britta Jacob (Deutsch Radio Philharmonie); to name a few. He is eager to hone his skills further as a musician with the help of his teacher Mr. Evgueni Brokmiller, along with any opportunities the conservatory offers.
Apart from classical music, he indulges in many other genres of music as, similar to a well-balanced meal, there is importance in experiencing and understanding a wide variety of music. A particular favourite of his is the combination of comedy and music of which he has several arrangements for an assortment of chamber music.

DAVID TAO CHEN MING
FAMA Flute Junior Teacher
David is an educator, actor, singer and musician. Having attained his Grade 8 Theory and ATCL in flute performance, David joined the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) majoring in flute before switching to Voice the following year and eventually graduated with Diploma in Vocal Performance.
He had since performed in various opera, musical and theatre productions. He is also a member of the Singapore Lyric Opera Artists’ Training Programme. As a flutist, David had the privilege to perform with many ensembles including The Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra of the Music Makers (Child Aid ) , Singapore National Youth Orchestra and Singapore Armed Forces Central Band. He was also selected as part of 1st Flute chair for the first SouthEast Asia Youth Wind Ensemble. With over 20 years of teaching experience, David enjoys teaching flute and voice in various music schools and his home studio. And spend his free time working with secondary and primary school band, choir and Angklung ensembles as a freelance CCA instructor.
A fun fact to share- David used to work as a professional Chef with more than 10 years of commercial kitchen experience!

LIU QING
FAMA Flute Junior Teacher
Liu Qing graduated with a bachelor degree in Music Performance at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. She started to learn the Flute at age of 8 with Mr Rao (The Principal Flute of Hunan Symphony Orchestra). From 2005, she studied with Mr He Sheng Qi (Professor for Flute of Shanghai Conservatory of Music). After she graduated, she was appointed the principal Flute at Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra in Changsha (Hunan).
At 11 and 12 years old, she was the champion for two consecutive years for the “Yamaha Instruments Performing Competition” held in Hunan. During her studies, she was also a flutist at Shanghai Youth Symphony Orchestra and had many performances, such as “The Music Festival” for commemorating the 250th anniversary of the birth of Mozart and the “International Electronic Music Festival in Shanghai”.
Liu Qing over 15 years teaching experience. She is a passionate, responsible tutor and enjoys teaching the flute.

YUVAA RANI
FAMA Flute Junior Teacher
Yuvaa graduated with a Bachelor’s in Education (Honours:I ) in Instrumental and Vocal Teaching at the Royal College of Music. She also possesses a Diploma in Music Teaching at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, where she had the privilege to be under the tutelage of Mr. Roberto Alvarez, Assistant Principal Piccolo and flutist at the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.
Furthermore, she has received training from Professor Emeritus Larry Scripp, the founding chair of the Music-in-Education Concentration at the New England Conservatory, and possesses experience in teaching early childhood music to children.
In addition to her passion for music, Yuvaa enjoys staying active through exercises such as reformer pilates and heated mat yoga.
