FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Getting Started
How do I sign up for a trial lesson?
Simply contact us via WhatsApp or through our enquiry form, and we'll be happy to arrange a suitable trial lesson. We offer up to four trial lessons, giving you time to experience our teaching approach before deciding whether to enrol in regular lessons.
What happens during a trial lesson?
During your trial lesson, your teacher will get to know your musical background, learning goals and interests. You'll experience our teaching approach, be introduced to the instrument where appropriate, and have the opportunity to ask any questions before deciding whether to continue.
Do I need to own an instrument before starting lessons?
Not necessarily. Beginners may choose to rent a woodwind instrument before purchasing their own. For hygiene reasons, students may also need a personal starter kit, such as a mouthpiece, ligature and reed, depending on the instrument being learnt. We will be happy to advise you on suitable instruments and accessories based on your needs and budget.
Lessons
How long is each lesson?
Lesson durations vary depending on the student's age, level and course. We offer lessons ranging from 45 to 60 minutes, allowing each student to learn at a pace that best suits their goals and stage of development.
What are the lesson fees at FAMA?
Lesson fees are charged monthly and vary depending on the teacher, instrument or course, lesson duration and level of study. Trial lessons are charged per lesson for the first four sessions. Please contact us for our latest fee schedule.
How many lessons are there each terms?
Each term usually consists of 12 lessons. Our academy calendar, including term dates and public holidays, is available on our website. If you are unable to attend a lesson, we will do our best to arrange a replacement lesson, provided sufficient notice is given.
Academy Policies
Can I suspend my lessons if I am away for a month or longer?
