Performing Diplomas for Piano
- For Piano Students who have passed Grade 8 and is considering to further the piano skills.

POSSIBLE CERTIFICATIONS


TRINITY:

  • ATCL: equivalent in standard to the first year recital of an undergraduate degree

  • LTCL: equivalent in standard to the final year recital of an undergraduate degree

  • FTCL: equivalent in standard to a postgraduate course recital at a conservatoire or university

- At least 19 years old and preferably passed Grade 8.

Course Covers

  • Knowledge and understanding of teaching/learning principles, techniques and processes, taking account of the individual needs and interests of pupils and lesson planning and reflection.
    E.g. How to teach Beginning Lesson, Sitting Posture, Pedalling, Technique (Wrist, Forearm, Shoulder, Tone Production), Rhythm, scales and arpeggios, rhythm, aural, sight reading, improvisation etc...

  • Communication skills and ability to articulate knowledge and understanding through musical performance, orally and in writing.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the history and background of the instrument, knowledge of repertoire and stylistic awareness.
    E.g. Stylistic Awareness of Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionism and 20th Century repertoire

  • Knowledge and understanding of professional values and practice.
    E.g. Parents

  • Teaching skills in a practical context, including the ability to reflect on and evaluate their role.
